Anticipation causes my palms to sweat, my heart to race. I walk, my back hunched and eyes low, for the first time. I am the Omega. A soft whimper brings their attention to my submissive form, and in an instant, the Alpha is heading my way.

I crouch low and they stick their noses to the fence, eagerly smelling my outstretched hand. Soon they are all wagging tails and wriggling bodies. For the first time, I gaze into the Alpha's eyes.

I am lost.

The beast inside of me bursts through. It wants to run, to play, to roll in the dirt. But most of all, it wants to hunt.

My senses feel reawakened, like they've been lying dormant for weeks, maybe even months. The whistle of the wind through the trees seems louder, more prominent. The gurgle of the water suddenly floods my senses, drowning out all else.

Suddenly, I am sitting on the ground, staring at the two with an eager smile. My energy is limitless and human urges are dissapated. A howl escapes my lips; eager, lonely, and excited. A third appears over a hill, and I howl again.

I disappear in this chorus, only to return when I hear voices. "Oh, lets hurry! The wolves are howling!"

The pitter patter of feet cause me to jump to my feet, a snarl reaching my lips before I can control it. I blush profusely, remembering human etiquette once again, and turn to the wolves.

A passerby seems disappointed that the howling has stopped. He tries to beckon them over, but they ignore him. When he leaves, however, they eagerly respond to me, laying in front of the fence with wolfish grins. I know I should leave, because my beast is itching to take over. I can feel it in my feet as I start to run, prancing like I do to greet the first snow.

I see them over the water as I leave, watching me with wise old eyes. I can only hope that I looked the same to them.
Short little...Thing about my first experience with wolves.

Perhaps -in my eyes- a little lacking in extra detail and description and all of that "good stuff", but the feeling is definitely there.

A pleasure to read :)
